The new farmhouse movement has officially taken over North America, and I’m not complaining! The theme of the farmhouse is a favorite of mine. I love the casual feeling that I’m in a room that’s a bit modern and a bit rustic. I am giving you a rundown today on my top 12 favorite modern farmhouse kitchens that are sure to inspire your next remodel.
1. WOOD WALL Recycled
How beautiful is the reclaimed wood wall in this new Old Seagrove Homes farmhouse kitchen? A timeless kitchen is created by the perfect contrast between modern white cabinets and a rustic wood accent wall.
2. BEAMS of WOOD
Who doesn’t love an old exposed beam that’s good? Studio Mcgee’s rough and raw aspect that these rafters add to this kitchen is pure genius. I love the blend of new and old. Check out photos of the before and after here.
3. POP FROM PINK
This Nest of Posies farmhouse kitchen blends the perfect amount of rustic, modern, and colorful pop. Compared to the rustic wood floor and floating racks, the white subway tile paired with a smooth marble countertop contrasts. How delightful is the show of pink dishes? Against the white wall, they pop so well and provide a much-needed personal touch.
4. WHOLE ON FARMHOUSE
There is SO much I love about the renovation of this modern farmhouse kitchen by Home Made Lovely. Seriously like. The shiplap, the countertops of the butcher block, the ‘Gather’ sign, the farmhouse track’s lighting, AND that adorable wreath. The poster child for all farmhouse kitchens should be this kitchen. Check out the complete redesign here with before and after videos.
5. SMALL KITCHEN, STYLE Large
This kitchen is evidence that style can be enormous in small spaces. It’s all painted white, which I love because it opens up the room. There are a few subtle accents in this kitchen that add a bit of elegance to the farmhouse. A focal point is the antique wooden cutting boards hanging on the wall, and the small burlap storage basket sitting atop the refrigerator complements them nicely.
6. COUNTRY KITCHEN FARMHOUSE
If on Instagram you don’t follow Three Twenty Style, you better head over and check out their feeds. They perfected the decoration of the farmhouse, and their kitchen is decked out to the max. The wood-wrapped hood fan can’t get over me against a shiplap backsplash. And the ever so chicken wire country farmhouse cabinet doors complete the look. I’d start here if you’re looking for any inspiration for the right country kitchen.
7. WHITE MODERN KITCHEN FARMHOUSE
I’m still a big sucker for an all-white kitchen, I have to admit, and this one from So Much Better With Age is a beauty. A real show stopper is the clean white countertops with the subway tile running to the ceiling. This kitchen is mostly modern with a little bit of a farmhouse touch. The rustic clock, brass hardware in the schoolhouse style, and the apron sink give the kitchen the farmhouse touch. And OTHER antique cutting board kitchen! Is there something? Am I in need of one? Where can I get some with my hands?
8. MODERN FARMHOUSE TILE FLOORING KITCHEN
I am SO in love with this Cortney Bishop Style kitchen. With the patterned tile bringing the entire room together, she seamlessly pulled off a bold use of black and white. And how gorgeous are the black and white tiles of the farmhouse? I love love love this kitchen. Love love this kitchen.
9. CHICKEN KITCHEN WIRE
The new Diane Keaton kitchen is such a farmhouse that I can almost hear chickens clucking. My favorite parts of this kitchen include reclaimed wood beams and gigantic skylights. The farmhouse theme is solidified by all the chicken wire and large quantities of galvanized metal, while the over-sized kitchen island adds a little modern into the mix.
10. SHIPLAP FAN OF HOOD
I love a good hood fan, and let me tell you that Sita Montgomery built a fantastic one. The shiplap hood fan merely looks beautiful against the white painted brick backsplash, with rustic wood accents and matching floating shelves. I’m dying for you to see the fantastic view this kitchen has. Click here to see the whole kitchen and dining room.
11. TWO TONED KITCHEN MODERN FARMHOUSE
A perfect way to get the farmhouse look is to add a contrasting wood finish into your kitchen. In this new farmhouse kitchen, Park and Oak did just that. The kitchen island becomes the highlight, and it pops up against the patterned tile flooring of the white kitchen and farmhouse. Right now, two-toned kitchens are another Major trend. I wrote a whole blog post about it here.
12. A modern farmhouse kitchen TIMELESS
How beautiful is this Clark & Co Homes kitchen? From the black cabinets to the iron hood fan to the lighting and hardware’s brass accents, I love it. On the cabinet doors and kitchen island, the shiplap and that oh so classic farmhouse X are details that will keep this modern farmhouse kitchen current for years to come.
